MEAM.Design - MEAM 201 - A05: Make All The Pistons

It's a year from now, and your fledgling Stirling engine business isn't doing so great. Then the phone rings. On the other end is the CEO of ACME, and they are asking for 10,000 engines per month for the next 5-10 years. Woohoo! But now you're concerned. How are you going to make all of these engines in our shop? It's time to look into alternatives, and you've decided to begin with the Piston (part 03).

Prepare a brief document covering the various processes that could be used to mass-produce this part, and lay out the benefits and drawbacks of each method. Ultimately, make a recommendation for a process (or sequence of processes) that you would propose using to realize a quantity of at least 10,000 pistons per month.

Bring your brief to class.
