MEAM.Design - MEAM 101 - MOVE

Timeframe

06S (2/14) - 08S (2/28)

Objective

  • Make something awesome. Then make it move.

Constraints

  • Your total model material must be less than or equal to one cubic inch.
  • You will only be printing one "part".
  • Be careful about tiny features! Your smallest features should be at least 0.021".
  • The layer resolution must be set to 0.007 inches.
  • You can select white, gray, black, blue, or red modeling material.

Process and Submission

  • Save your part/assembly as an STL from SolidWorks. Open your STL file in Catalyst. Change the printer to the Dimension Elite. Set the layer resolution to 0.007". Properly orient the part. Process the STL. Check the layers. Add the part to the pack. Check the material usage. DO NOT CLICK PRINT.
  • Go find the CMB file that has been created next to your STL file, and rename it as MOVE-PennKey.cmb.gz.
  • Save a JPG of your SolidWorks part/assembly and rename it as MOVE-PennKey.jpg (where PennKey is the part before the @ sign in your school email address).
  • Attach both the CMB and JPG files to an email to medesign@seas.upenn.edu with the subject line '101-MOVE-S?-###, where "?" is your lab section number and ### is your color preference.
